Really loved delving into the history of kingdoms in the Bronze Age for this piece, particularly the Sumerian and Babylonian aesthetics. I’ve really loved seeing how different civilizations over time choose how they represent with their visual vocabulary elements like hair, animals, eyes and facial features. It’s so enticing to see what elements of day to day life leads to aesthetic choices in a society’s art. :)
Also for this piece I wanted to stick to a strong gameplay centric layout modular presentation. Something that you could easily use for gameplay map creation. I was pleasantly surprised how small the number of assets were needed in the end to make the actual foundation structure so I could focus more time on the statue pieces. :D
