Winter Forest Open World in UE5

Wanted to cool down during the dog days of summer by doing a snowy mountain forest environment. :) This was also an opportunity to take what I learned with the feather workflow with my Dino in my last post and apply it to fur with some Grey Wolves. It’s a bit more challenging because both the poly normal directions, normal map detail, and Albedo values on both the wolf’s body and fur card extrusions have to line up seamlessly. So there’s a bit more intricate attention needed to get a good transition and get that soft fur effect.

I also love practicing more of my animation skills with quadruped movement and idles. I love the process of learning more and more each time and I’m very lucky I work with some amazing people at TGC that I’ve learned some amazing animation fundamentals from!
