Wanted to delve more into the components of interactive gameplay with my environments for this piece. I was focusing on 2 main factors. The first was getting a true foliage pivot painter pipeline instead of distance field vertex offset which can look a bit janky. The second was applying actual AI pathing and navigation to the creatures I’ve made. It’s a lot of time debugging and researching but it’s really exhilarating finding out how to do more of the animation and technical animation pipeline. It still has some rough edges especially with navigation turning but I'm looking at Planet Zoo for some really good Pawn navigation reference! 🙂
