For this piece I wanted to try another take on a forest. One that would harken back to the types of forests that haven’t existed for tens of thousands of years without any human modification or stewardship. Looking at nature from this long lost perspective, stirring feelings of unease or a sense of overwhelming indifference can be felt as well as just nature’s beauty which I believe can create a deeper love and respect for it. Writings like Thomas Halliday’s “Otherlands” and Jeff VanderMeer’s “Annihilation” beautify capture this feeling and I’m hoping this piece can do some of the same. 🙂
